  • On receiving an approval receipt, the Ministry of Labor will issue an Entry Permit, which will give access to the applicant to legally enter Dubai. This entry permit is valid only for 2 months from the date of issue and allows the person to stay in the UAE for 30 days.
  • Once the employee has entered the country, he/she needs to begin the application process to obtain a labor card. For a free zone employment the government issues an ID card and both labor cards and ID cards are valid for a period of 2 years. After entering the country, the applicant needs to apply for a Residence visa within the 60 day time and complete all formalities.
  • After completing all the above mentioned steps, now the applicant needs to visit the Emirates ID service center along with the relevant form and your passport and a valid entry permit.
  • Now, the employer can apply to the Immigration Authorities for the residence visa. Employer needs to go to any of the government hospitals for their medical test.
  • After getting the medical test results, the applicant can go to the Department of Naturalization and Residency Dubai (DNRD) with all the relevant documents and get the visa stamped on the passport.

Validity :

Regardless of the type of work you intend to do, your visa application should be done by your employer. If you’ll be working in the UAE for under 30 days, your employer can apply on your behalf for a short term visa. There’s also a 90 day multi entry visa for those coming for only a few months. In this case you’ll have to provide documentation and proof of the business registration before your application can be considered.

If you’re a student you might be able to work in a relevant position such as an internship, under the terms of your student visa and without needing a new permit.
